Tart and Sweet Cranberry Sauce

Thanksgiving is upon us. I love that there is a holiday just for being grateful.  The past two years have been challenging for all of us, so resting, sharing, and eating a delicious meal with special friends is just the antidote we need.

I love to cook so Thanksgiving provides a whole day of fun for me. My joy begins with the menu planning, moves to the cooking and culminates at that moment when everyone sits, breathes in the aromas, takes in the colors and textures of the food, and smiles across the table before digging in.

This recipe bring a much-needed balance of acidity the typical carb-heavy Thanksgiving fare.  I've added some warm spices to bring more depth to the dish. 

I also like to add a salad of orange slices, toasted pine nuts or slivered almonds, pomegranate seeds and a miso dressing to bring color and a lighter fare to the table.
