Jay and Steph live in Nelson County, VA where they have a solar-powered homestead that is their family farm. They moved there because they wanted a self-sustaining lifestyle with fresh, unprocessed foods. They couldn’t find anyone, in the midst of Virginia wine country, making great vinegar, so they began crafting it themselves from locally sourced ingredients.
They began with years of careful research and recipe fine-tuning including networking with scientists, food manufacturers, homecrafters, wineries and restaurateurs to make the best handcrafted natural vinegar. We are delighted to add these vinegars to our stock of some of the world’s best vinegars.
Heritage Red - This red wine vinegar is medium colored medium bodied and fruity on the nose. Our families and friends “go to” Vinegar for vinaigrettes, sauces, soups/stews and for braising greens.
Heritage White - This white wine vinegar is lighter bodied and ideal for mixed greens salads, chicken marinades, as a poaching liquid for fish and chicken and for finishing braised greens. It makes the best Hollandaise you’ve ever had!
