I have spent a year studying the laws, benefits and makers of CBD. After much research, I have chosen two providers to represent at The Cookery because I trust their knowledge and integrity. What is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol, a compound found naturally in hemp plants. Don’t worry, it’s not intoxicating as there is zero THC in our products. THC is the psychoactive element of the hemp and cannabis plant. You can safely add CBD to your everyday routine without experiencing a high or any debilitating effects.
Is CBD legal?
Yes! The 2016 Farm Bill passed by Congress legalized American grown hemp, so all CBD infused products derived from those plants are perfectly legal at Federal and State levels.
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana
The defining difference between marijuana and hemp is the percentage of THC. They are both types of cannabis plants, but industrial hemp is a plant with less than 0.3% THC by dry weight while marijuana has far more than that. CBD derived from industrial hemp, such as that used by our vendors, is legal at the federal level. Marijuana remains illegal at the federal level.
What about drug testing?
Our CBD products contain zero THC and are made from legally grown U.S. hemp. These products meet both federal and state requirements.
