Travis and Joyce Miller’s retirement hobby resulted in the creation of Falling Bark Farm® and started with 48 bottles of their Original Hickory Syrup at the local farmers’ market in Clarke County, VA.
The Millers follow a centuries old method begun by Native Americans using local hickory bark extract. They gather the bark, toast it to enhance flavor, and put it through a proprietary extraction process, aged, and filtered before introducing a minimal amount of turbinado sugar.
